MTA Strike Is Over

As of this weekend, it was announced that Mount Allison University's faculty are back off strike and the 2400 students will be going back to classes. The strike by the 154 full-time and 56 part-time faculty members lasted three weeks. After 14 hours of negotiations on Saturday, an agreement was found.

As dumb as I believe this whole thing was, I am just glad to see all of the students (some of whom are good friends of mine) get back to classes so they can finish up the year and get their money's worth out of it. Too much time was unnecessarily wasted so that Mister and Misses High-Paid-Professor could get MORE money while the students who paid thousands for their education were sitting at home, learning nothing but the TV guide. This whole situation was a joke if you ask me, and not a funny one either.

  1. I would totally have to disagree on this (nothing personal). I find that teachers work more than what we think and deserves a better pay. With them having better pay we can get better education. Our province needs to invest more in education. I totally understand your point of view of students being out of class for so long and they shouldn't be paying the repercussions of it but at the same time it is for our best interest right?
