Pepsi Closures in the Maritimes

Pepsi will be shutting down their warehouses in Dartmouth, NS and Moncton, NB. A company in Moncton, named Armour Logistics, will be taking over the operations. These closures will affect 43 workers but they are being offered help with comprehensive career transitions.

Yet again, job loss in the Maritimes. It's always disheartening to see people go out of work around here, seeing how we're already struggling as a whole. Though, there is the upside to it. That being Pepsi helping out those who were laid-off to find other jobs/careers. And, when you look at it, laying off 43 and helping them out is A LOT better than laying off all 369 employees and leaving them with nothing. Like I said, though, it's just getting tiring to see us slowly sink further and further.

  1. I agree with you totally, it is heartbreaking to always see so many Maritimers losing their jobs. This will cause as all closures do a decrease in the population because of the fact that so many of our men and women go out west to work. With this said it was very good that the company decided to help them with finding new jobs and putting them in new positions.

  2. I agree, I hate seeing such loss in the maritime's. What can a person do though? Big businesses are moving out west where the money is. I think it is really good of Pepsi to help with a career transition. Most businesses wouldn't do this.
